Feeling like 0-2 heading into Week 3

Hello Week 3 of the National Football League! Technically, you started on Thursday night with the Dolphins beating the Jaguars where FitzMagic showed up and Minshew Magic went poof, but you end with some juicy elite team and quarterback matchups.  Sunday night we get the Packers and Saints (or Rodgers vs Brees, if you're into promoting players over teams), and Monday night well... read below. As Tom Brady likes to tweet, LFG!!! The Highlights of Week 3 We have two 2-0 vs 2-0 matchups this week.  The LA Rams (2-0) travel to Buffalo (2-0) to play the Bills at 1pm. and on Monday night, Kansas City (2-0) travels to Baltimore (2-0).   The Rams are traveling from Los Angeles to the east coast for the second consecutive week (played at Philadelphia) for a 1pm. If the Rams buck the time travel trend of West Coast teams traveling to East for an early game two consecutive weeks, I'll move them into my Top 3 because THEY. ARE. LEGIT.  The Rams and Bills have good defenses. I don't exp

A Painful Week 2

Week 2 of the NFL was a great week for me.  After an 8-7 picks week combined with a 0-5-1 ATS record and one lost survivor team (Colts), I considered last week my preseason and this week improve. To be honest, if I did any worst this weeks blog would not exist.   This week, I went 13-3 straight, 2-4 ATS, 3-2 in my fantasy leagues, won my pre-existing Survivor League for a second week, and picked up a win from a new survivor league that started from week 2.  Enough about my successes, let's talk about the best and worst of the 2nd week of the season. COVID-19 vs ACLs According to reports, for the second consecutive week the NFL had zero positive COVID tests  prior to the start of Week 2. The results of the NFL's monitoring test from September 13-19 stated that 14,074 tests were administered to 2,438 players and there were zero confirmed positive tests. ( Note: 22,590 tests were administered to 5,407 team personnel and there were five new confirmed positives among other personnel

Tuesday Afternoon NFL Recap

Welcome Back NFL! No preseason games and the product looked like I last remember it. Sure there were no fans and coaches on the sidelines were wearing masks, but given the challenges in front of the league prior to this weekend, I say congratulations.  I won't address the other stuff because this is about football and the men who play it, and play it well, and the coaches who pour their souls into preparing their teams to be the best they can be. I support their desire to use their platforms to bring awareness and try to make a difference in their communities.  More challenging weeks are ahead, but this was a great start. Rapid Rundown Here's my quick thought on the games from Week 1. I'll expand on a couple of games or subjects with more thought below. But, given the fact that I didn't get a chance to sit in my favorite sports bar and watch all these games, I feel pretty good about what I saw via highlights thanks to Twitter and YouTube. HOU 20 - KC 34 ... feels like t

Happy to see the NFL is back

Since I have a blog, why not post and track my weekly NFL picks, my Top 5 ATS picks and Survivor contest picks? In the event I ever play in the SuperContest, I want to have the confidence of knowing I not flushing coin down the toilet.   This is a last minute post after the 1pm games started, but I promise my picks were made before I published this. I will do better prior to Week 2. First let me say I'm really disappointed I couldn't pull enough chips together to go to Jacksonville to watch my Indianapolis Colts open the season in Jacksonville. The fact that there are limited fans makes this game really appealing to me.  Although, the last two trips to DUUUU-VVVAAALLL weren't great. Last trip I went with my friend John, who's a Jags fan, back in 2015. I won tickets from local sportsradio station and they included passes into the BudLight Cabana area. The Colts got ROLLED and I had to listen to their touchdown theme song about 4 or 5 times from the cabana area, which is
